PIGSCAN has been developed in collaboration with Lenz Instruments from Barcelona and with financial assistance from the EU 7th Framework Programme for Research & Development in the Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Biotechnology Industries.

PIGSCAN technology will give a simple result for lean meat vs fat yields in pigs, which with knowledge of the carcass weight will produce a volume of lean meat yield from the carcass.


With additional funding from the Horizon 2020 Programme we hope to commercialise the technology, which is intended for small and medium sized meat processors.
